"These guys are different. Im not speaking on the product this time. One of my hair ties just happen to be bad (it happens to the best engineered products *shrug* ) it lost its rebound rather quickly. I mention it in passing on a facebook ad and with a little info from me, a free pack of the classy a. f. all black ties are in my hands a little while later. Would these be able to handle being worn while swimming or occasionally in the shower just getting them soaked in general?

So... why does it need to hold 80lbs?
It does not NEED to, just an added bonus from the construction of the ties. Basically, they are very strong.

Is there any method to re-shrink the hair ties once they have been worn for a while and stretched out? That is the only con I have found for these. Other than that, they kick ass!
No. With that said, just because they are worn in does not mean they will not preform. Even with extended stretch or "bacon effect" (when the sides kinda wave) you will be able to continue to get plenty of mileage out of them.
I have very very thick hair. I normally use extra long ties that are still tight until they stretch out. Would these fit?
