- It does not NEED to, just an added bonus from the construction of the ties. Basically, they are very strong.

- Is there any method to re-shrink the hair ties once they have been worn for a while and stretched out? That is the only con I have found for these. Other than that, they kick ass!
- No. With that said, just because they are worn in does not mean they will not preform. Even with extended stretch or "bacon effect" (when the sides kinda wave) you will be able to continue to get plenty of mileage out of them.
- I have very very thick hair. I normally use extra long ties that are still tight until they stretch out. Would these fit?
