Longhair Professional Series: Chris Morgan
It’s no secret long hair on men is considered “unprofessional.” There are plenty of jobs out there where you can’t have long hair. To be a man with long hair is to have limited vocational options.

That’s why we created the Longhair Professional Series. It’s purpose:

To showcase successful men with long hair in their professional fields. Talking long hair and business.

We aim to reinforce the belief for every longhair:

“Yes, I can be a longhair and be a professional/be taken seriously/make a good living. I don’t have to be ‘conventional.’”

Chris Morgan, Hairy & Merry

For this installment we had a chat with Chris Morgan, longhaired co-owner of Hairy & Merry Pet Spa and Dog Wash, an independently-owned small business sharing a building with us in Little Italy.

We talked shop over a few cold ones at The Longhairs Global Headquarters, everything from blow dryers and hair balls to long hair in the corporate environment.

Sit back, let your hair down and listen in.

Sadly, we learned that Chris was ready to cut his hair.

You’ll have to listen to the podcast to hear why, but the good news is he decided to donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a charity that collects hair donations to make real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair to cancer treatments. If for some unknown reason you ever decide to cut your own hair, why not at least donate to a good cause like this?

Chris has ultra-curly hair and wanted to try something new and different before cutting it all off. Both he and his company being supporters of local business, he got a serious blowout from Corinne at Salotto Eclectic Blowdry Lounge.

Finally, when the hour came at last, Chris trusted none other than Stile Salon to take up the scissors, and, tragically, part his mane from his scalp.

Despite violating the ultimate longhair code, Chris is a longhair lifer and owner of a damn cool business. Stop by Hairy & Merry if you’re ever in Little Italy, pet owner or not it’s worth checking out.

Here’s to another successful longhair in business. And Chris, when you grow it back out, The Longhairs will be here waiting with open arms.
