In 2016 our boy Sam wrote to us expressing his desire to get a Longhairs tattoo on his body, respectfully seeking our blessing. After a quick check-in with our intellectual property department we responded with an enthusiastic green light.

This is a topic we’ve had on our minds for some time: boys with long hair.

2015 was the inaugural year of The Longhairs, and building a community for men with long hair.

This week we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, or a happy holiday whatever you may celebrate, even if it’s just celebrating life.

As you know, last week we celebrated the hair ties launch at Long Manes & Candy Canes. Many of you couldn’t make it due to the long distance, but we know you were down for it.

You probably haven’t thought much about this guy’s long hair, or his struggle. That’s because there are things you simply don’t think about unless you are a man with long hair.

We started with a box of 2000. Now we’re down to 50, meaning there are 1950 longhairs referral cards out there in the world. Hopefully they’ve fallen into the right hands.

Long hair might not fly in a job interview or with your girlfriend’s parents. So where is the flow acceptable? Where do the locks fly freely? Where does long hair get you street cred?

It’s no question longhairs are discriminated against in the world of the professional workforce. In this case the guy had to show he was suffering from a body image disorder just to get his job back. Long hair limits your upward mobility. It’s hard to be a boss with long hair.
