It has dominated our lives and our content streams for the better part of the last year, and for good reason, but for the love of all that is blessed we must call it a wrap (for now).

The championship announcement gave you the quick facts, while the full recap described what it was like in photographs and written word. But it’s not until you see this video that you can really begin to feel what it was like at The Great Cut.

Here is an attempt to recapture just a small slice of what it was like to be at The Great Cut. We’ve left names out because including names would make this impossible.

On Sunday, March 17, shortly after 1:00 AM Pacific Time, Guinness World Records Adjudicator Brittany Dunn announced The Great Cut had successfully donated 339 pounds of hair to Children With Hair Loss, breaking the world record for the most hair donated to charity in 24 hours.

Nearly 1,000 kind souls have mailed their hair donations to The Great Cut, c/o The Longhairs.

As if our goals were not ambitious enough, we’ve been made aware the Guinness World Record we are attempting to break at The Great Cut—Most hair donated to charity in 24 hours.—has not only been broken, but shattered.

We started out in Little Italy, just two guys, a purpose and 400 square feet.

Four brothers, ranging from three to nine years old, and their mother will cut and donate their long hair for children with medically-related hair loss.

Production department just punched it into the end zone, and The Great Cut website and registration is LIVE. Thanks to those who completed The Great Cut survey, which helped us refine some of the details.
